For me, I would have to say “no”. Many employers do ask for that up front, but if you read carefully some of the pre-requites for employment also state “BSN” or experience equivalent. I have been a nurse for a couple of decades. One of my colleagues went back in her 50’s to get her BSN and to specialize in a certain field. She had no trouble finding work.
I have been hired for my experience alone. Still I guess it’s a draw….
Never hurts to get more education, one just has themselves when they are getting older, “Do I really want to work myself into the grave trying to pay it back?) Student loan.
It’s a tough call.
