This is a little different. I worked with a male nurse with a large ego. I know most of you male nurses would never dream of doing this. Anyway we were Oncology Nurses and almost everytime he would go into a room, the patients greeting would be “hello Doctor” the nurse would not deny this or correct the patient but say something like “yes that’s me, what can I do for you”.
Since he was charge nurse for middle shift and the manager was gone for the day, I was pulled in 2 directions because he was very close with the nurse manager and didn’t care for peer’s ratting on each other. In fact the manager was so bad her first year on our unit 39 nurses quit. 1 of them was there for 16 years. While another was hired and quit 2 days later. What would you do?
