I’ve been an RN for 32 years. I don’t remember feeling nervous til I started my first job which was weeks after I graduated. It was terrifying but here I am. I survived and you will too. There will always be nasty Nurses around because that’s just life. Find the kind people. They are always there. Always. They will help you. If you aren’t sure about what you are about to do, trust that gut instinct and ask for a second opinion or ask for help. When your work is done and someone else is running around like crazy; help them – they will remember it.
I always tell new Nurses or Student Nurses to remember those mean people and resolve to never behave that way. But honestly, most people including Nurses, Doctors, Patients and their Families are good people.
Good luck 🙂
