Adjusting to night shift can be hard at first. I, like many others, had trouble with sleeping too much because your internal clock gets so turned around and you don’t know whether to sleep during the day or night. What has helped me the most was manipulating my sleep schedule. To do this, on my first day off, I force myself to get up after 4 hours of sleep. This lets me sleep to the early afternoon, and I can get a few things done that day. Then, that evening my body is ready to go to bed, allowing me to get up at a normal time the next morning. Then when I need to be back to night shift I simply take a nap during the day, then stay up late allowing me to sleep prior to my night shift. With this I have started exercising, which also helps my body regulate it’s sleep schedule. Hopefully this helps!
