I’ve been on 12 hour nights (3 shifts a week) since 2005 and I feel more run down than ever. I enjoy my coworkers on nights and the fact that it is less busy and management is at home and out of your hair (lol…). I was hired 13 yrs ago on a 7 on- 7 off, 3 to 11 shift. Then hospital was sold to a for profit company and everything changed. I have a fan for the white noise, black out shades, no one at home during the day so it’s quiet, a Rx for Ambien but still not the same as sleeping at night!
