There is nothing wrong being in LTC. I am a LPN and had started my career in LTC, I actually spent 20 yrs in the same building, imagine that. I became the restorative nurse then the ADON. LTC care is rewarding and has room for advancement with the LPNs. Come on now, where else can you use your skills, so many IVs, injections, wound vacs, tube feedings, etc. I recently moved on to ICF/ DD facility and there is still room for advancement for LPNs. My DON is a LPN and I think that is awesome. I miss my LTC residents and co workers but I still get a little of that with my elderly DD residents.
