I have been a LPN for over 20 years, and still don’t feel the need to go further in my career. I did not suffer through nursing school to make big $, I did it for the love of medicine and caring of others. I have worked in a SNF setting all my life, and can’t imagine there ever not having us there. We are really the core of it’s being. As I worked on, I was chosen to be a supervisor and room my title on full bore. Granted, there is the need for the RN’s and their roles, but for the most part, they are behind the scene doing their jobs. There are only a few things that a RN can do that I can’t. Life hasn’t given me the chance to move on even if I had wanted to. I am confident and comfortable with who I am, and my place in the medical field. There is no & put on pride.
