I have worn knee high TED hose almost daily for > 30 years and my legs feel better with that level of support. There are a variety of hose available with different levels of graduated support. I recommend them and I think my legs look great too. You can find these on line or at stores that target people with diabetes or other circulatory conditions. They can be expensive, anywhere from $12 to $90 per pair. If you have existing disease, you might be able to get a script for them and have your insurance pick up the cost.
The Spanx I have seen are for tummy control, which is a whole ‘nother concept!
I also suggest a good pair of running, cross trainers or walking shoes, which should cost at least $100 and they need to be replaced every 3 to 6 months. Do not skimp on shoes! Go to a store that has a shoe fitter to get the best type for your foot. Some athletic stores have good fitters, or try a store that also sells orthotics and specialty inserts.
