I am a Critical Care nurse and I have 11 tattoos now. Although, many of my patients don’t even know I am there, I do deal with their friends and loved ones. To this day, I have never had a negative comment about my ink. They are all covered, with the exception of the tail from a dragon on my upper arm that hangs below my scrub sleeve. Occasionally, you can also see one that I have on my upper chest when I bend over.
My tattoos are very personal and each one of them means something to me. They are part of who I am and what I believe in. As tattooing becomes more mainstream, I think the stigma will diminish.
