I am an RN with numerous tattoos, several of which show when I am working. As I care for my patients, I do not judge them based on their physicality, religion, ethnicity, etc. At this time in our society, tattoos should be a non-issue —along with things like race, religion, sex, age, etc. I personally refuse to work for an organization which would require me to hide my tattoos, as if they should be a source of regret or shame. I have found that the great majority of the patients I’ve cared for are complimentary of or simply don’t mention my tattoos.
