I work in a state facility caring for developmentally disabled patients. We have a campus of group homes and go from home to home passing meds and caring for individuals. We are encouraged to wear street clothes and to keep our “look” as normal as possible because scrubs seems to scare our consumers. Since it can get very hot and humid in our area, a couple of weeks ago, there was one particular day I didn’t bother with putting on any make up because I didn’t want to sweat it all off within 30 minutes of getting there. In my first home, one of the little darlings asked, “Nurse, where is your make up today?” I replied that I just didn’t feel like wearing any today. He said, ” Ummm, you really need to.” lol, nothing like pure honesty.
