I looked at TN once and found it to be the lowest paying state in the country! The pay in SC is pretty close. I’ve been a pediatric nurse for 14 yrs. I was making more than that in the NICU, but I’m in pediatric home health now so i make less but its still really close. If you have a BSN and chemo cert then get thee to MUSC in Charleston pronto!!!
I take care of a child who is a MUSC NICU/PICU grad and goes there for all his appts. His Mom told me last week that the NICU, PICU, and Peds were all “short” and unless they have some lunatic hiring freeze on, they should be hiring. There are lots of places in Charleston you can work. MUSC’s Children’s Hospital is a pretty big complex. But keep in mind that there are also three nursing schools there and two of them are turning out BSNs every year. So lean hard on your experience!
I’m afraid I know absolutely nothing about Denver. But I do know Charleston. Went to Nursing School at MUSC and worked in three of the area hospitals in different capacities during school. I lived in Chas for 6 years and i LOVED it. (I only left b/c my spouse got a job elsewhere.) I would go back in a heartbeat if I had the chance!
Let us know how it goes!
