We are changing our e-charting from T-system to cerner. The rest of the hospital should love it, as their current system is not user friendly at all, but we in the ER will have some pain, because T-system was made just for ERs, while cerner is focused more on having one chart follow the patient through the clinics, ER, in patient, etc.
As part of the new charting we will learn, there are some reminders for us to get our ‘meaningful use’ charting in there, which is required for billing purposes. Thankfully there are very few hard stops, but the pop up warnings (soft stops) are going to drive us crazy because some things we have just never felt it was important to chart, but now we will be required.
