Have u asked yourself or the other nurse why they feel that way? I would give some thought to if ur communication styles are at all similar, or if u just dont see eye to eye. It would be respectful to not think about other things during report, even if you have things to do the minute u walk out the door. I agree that it can\should be worked our between u, because involving others will only make communication between u harder. The things that make a good listener are maybe not things u do obviously. If u want her to listen to u, show her the respect u would like to get in return. If all else fails, agree to disagree. Maybe invite her for coffee and talk without distractions? Whatever the case, for the sake of your patients and coworkers, find some common ground and work it out. We will not like everyone, nor will everyone like us, but that doesn’t mean we should try while at work. Best of luck!
