What are your thoughts on various types of alternative healing. Which do you think actually work and which do you think are ju ju?

I believe there is a definite connection between the mind and body, so I think alternative medicines often time work, if not for physical reasons then psychological. It has been proven that placebos have been effective, and massage therapy helps relieves stress muscle aches ect, some herbs help in healing and meditation and acupuncture ect have also been shown to be effective. I do believe there is “ju ju” as you call it out there, and also con artists and scams as well. I think that as nurses we should be holistic in our care so any and all treatments that are shown effective should be considered for overall patient care, so a mixture of medicines and alternative therapies would be a great combination.
