    Hi to everyone,

A wife works as a RN in hospital, of course this is fine.
But I am concerned about the following that this nurse (RN) on Fridays and Saturdays (night) stays in the hospital considerably longer than other days Monday through Thursday in order to finish “charting/paper work”. So if the shift ends on Friday or Saturday in 11pm she usually (most) of the time comes (next day) between 2 and 2:30am

    My question is:
Is it truth that on Fridays and Saturday (nights) for some reason register nurses need to stay longer in hospitals than other days Monday-Thursday (night) in order to finish work.? I would like to hear opinions of the people who already have working experience as RN in hospitals.

    Thank you very much.
ps. I apologize if this is not the right place to ask this question

I’m an LPN at a nursing home. I never worked in a hospital but I can say that there are many days where I’m staying up to 2 hours over shift change to complete nurses notes and charting. This is usually when nights are busy, and I’m tending to medical emergencies or completing new admissions and charting has to wait until shift change.
