Hi! Need some advice regarding the compact state nurse. I currently live in Denver Colorado but work in Texas PRN. I am ready to start applying for PRN positions in Denver but don’t want to quit working in Texas just yet. Is it possible to work PRN in Colorado and Texas under my Texas RN license? I’ve done some research on the BON website but can’t find any clear answer regarding my situation. Any thoughts would be so helpful! Thanks!

You can obtain a multi state license I believe. If you look at rnmobility (dot com) you can see the details for each state’s license requirements as well as some information on how to do a multi state license. Tried to add the link – but couldn’t post the message with a link. Good luck!

Yes both Colorado and Texas are compact states and you can work in both under one license.
