Trying to gather information about what types of medications/drug/herbs techniques nurses use to go to to sleep, specifically if they have to go during the day because they work night. The end goal is to write a blog post on my website http://www.nurse-nocturnus.com that serves as a point of discussion. I do not mind advice or expert opinion, but what I’m really looking for is real life experiences. By posting responses, I will assume consent to have part of your response in the blog. I will ask that no one use real names or distinguishing characteristics, nor mention the same of any patients. Thank you in advance!

I work 10p-7a. It takes 30 minutes to reach my place. I prepare my breakfast and eat. I usually go to bed around 8. I wake up by 4.30 or 5 and prepare my supper. I have also covered my room with dark shades to make my room darkest possible. Sometimes if I feel more tired or stressed, I take a Benadryl for a good sleep. Check out the below Tips to deal with Nursing Stress and Burnout, they are worth reading and following.
