I am a biomedical engineering and I am gathering educational materials about work with some medical instruments such as EKG(ECG) and pulse oximetry. I need your clinical experiences. Can you tell me which malfunctioning or medical errors or problems about this instruments you see? Or explain the needs of nurses
    thanks

The biggest error I have noticed in my ER experience is misplaced leads.. This can give an inaccurate reading.
If the patient is cold and shivering this will also skew the reading.

When referring to the pulse ox reading, I have personally better results on the ear. If a patient is cold or has impaired circulation the extrimity could provide a false decreased reading.
