Please help make this site more interactive. Click on people, read their profiles, request to be their friend. Every nurse has so much to offer others, but so many of us downplay what a difference we can make for other nurses.
Make yourself available to the other nurses here and be a MIGHTY NURSE. Here are a couple of suggestions I hope you all follow, as it is really what makes this community a real community. First, go to EDIT PROFILE and then click on the CHANGE AVATAR button. Find a nice picture of yourself or something that defines some aspect of you, and upload it. Any picture is more interesting than the outline that is shown for people that have not uploaded a picture. I know not everyone can be as sexy as I am in their avatar, but personalize your look and you will attract more people who want to read your profile.
Next, click on your name, and then click on ACTIVITY. A box will come up that says, “What’s New, (your name)?” Type something about yourself here. Pimp a product, describe your day, vent a pet peeve, treat it kind of like your facebook wall and let us know what is going on in your life. When people click on your name, they will get this message, and if you become friends with them, these messages will be displayed when they look at their friends list.
This is the best site around for nurses to befriend other nurses and help each other out. As a moderator, sure, I hope you post all of your thoughts in public for everyone to read and for me to have something to do, but just as important is to make friends and share ideas and have fun. You can’t tell too naughty of jokes in the public forums, but once you make some friends here that you have built up some trust, and then you can have some of the most enjoyable and informative conversations around.
If nothing else, click on my name and “friend” me. If you are too shy to ask a question in the forums, ask me, and I’ll write you back, usually within 24 hours. If I don’t know the answer, I will try to find it. If I can’t, I’ll let you know that too. Thanks for making Mighty Nurse such a Mighty location for us to get together and spread the joy of nursing.
