    Hi,

I hope it’s okay to post this here. If not, please remove this post and I’ll go away.

My name is Shane Morales. I’m an author and I’m doing a bit of research for a book I’m writing. I’m hoping this is an okay place to ask questions.

    Here’s the situation:

Two minors (17) are brought into the ER ( 3:00 AM) after being in a vehicle accident. Girl B is severely injured (broken leg, something wrong with her neck – she wasn’t wearing a seat belt). Girl A, however, appears to be unhurt. From what I understand, since Girl A is a minor, she can’t refuse care. And given that her passenger (Girl B) is badly injured, Girl A might have injuries that aren’t apparent (aside from being banged up there’s nothing actually wrong with her).

So what I need to know is what happens to Girl A at the ER. What sort of injuries would she be checked for? Would it take long (lots of checking) or would she just be checked out briefly and left in a room until her parents show up? Since Girl B was drinking and high on coke (not that anyone would know that at this point), would Girl A be tested for that? What happens to her?

If anyone can paint a picture for me about this I’d be very grateful.

    Thank you.
