Which “Home Remedies” do you use for yourself and family, and do you take any of them to work with you for your patients?

I used to use an OTC product for migraines which worked pretty well for nitroglycerin headaches too.

I use home remedies and I tell my patients about a few. I use honey for wound infections, ginger for nausea, honey-lemon for sore throats and herbed steam for nasal congestion. I would like to eventually become a certified herbalist so I can tell my patients about all kinds of different treatments. I work in substance abuse/psych, so meds are a big issue, both needing meds and needing to stay away from certain meds, in the case of the substance abuse pts. Being able to give them an alternative to drugs of abuse would help a lot of them tremendously.
