Since hospital will no longer get reimbursed if a patient bounces back before so many days after discharge, it seems like there would be good incentive to make sure patients had adequate home health resources. Home health nurse agencies charge quite a bit on money. Are there any hospitals which send out home health nurses as part of their own staff? If not, feel free to bounce this idea off your admin team, as it would be a cheaper way to keep patients home, than to send them home with nothing and then not get paid when they come back in a day or two.
