Hello every one I graduated in 2012 and took the NcLex after being out of school for almost a year well, I passed and received my LPN License in NJ and its been 7 months
of constantly applying for work online, emailing resumes, faxing resumes, and walking in handing in resumes with cover letters and references included. I’ve been told by some agencies that I needed at least 1 year of experience before they can offer me work. And every where else that I have tried and called have all said the same thing experience needed. Please can anyone tell me how I’m I supposed to advance in this field in NJ (and please do not tell me they are phasing out LPN’s because there are many places that Do hire and employee LPN’s they are just requiring experience of 1 or 2 years in order to work with that facility). Please if anybody has any helpful advice for a new LPN who needs experience and a job please help!! Thank you.

Where did you preceptor during your LPN school? I got my first job as an LPN at an urgent care I preceptored at. Usually they will take you. Apart from that, I really have to say just grab the first job you can whether you like it or not and use it for your next experience. But if you get the choice, go for whatever is closest related to what you want to do.
I want to do med surg/ER in the hospital so I thought urgent care was a logical way to get there.
    Best luck!
