I work on my plans for hours and hours. I research and research. I try really hard but my plans are not up to par. I have problems finding research that goes with my case and collaborative problems and nursing diagnoses. I have purchased Ackley’s Nursing Diagnoses, Gordon’s Manual of Nursing Diagnosis and Carpenito’s Handbook of Nursing Diagnosis. Any suggestions on how to make this more efficient and increase the quality. It seems like I pick a diagnosis that seems to fit my patient and work up interventions and then the instructor doesn’t like it. I tried talking to her and she helped a bit but I still feel like I am drowning – DX: Ineffective coping skills. Any help or hints would be great.

LMAO …. Sorry. I had some instructors that would rip my careplans apart because they didn’t think men should be nurses and they wanted me to suffer. Even those that liked me, I still had to waste hours and hours of my life on care plans. Just get through nursing school. Nursing is a million times better than nursing school, and I have never seen another care plan since getting out of school 18 years ago.

I’m in my last semester of writing careplans, and I could not be happier to be almost finished. The sad part is I’m finally getting good at writting them.Even though others tell me they are great every week I get handed back paperwork that is written all over. The hardest part for me to accept was that my instructor is just doing her job. They have been doing this for such a long time. They see things that we as students don’t. Try to use her feedback as a learning tool.
