Hello all! I will be graduating in the Spring of 2015 (BSN) and my husband and I are looking at calling Denver Colorado our new home. I briefly looked on other forums and saw that there are many different nursing schools around the area and that there may be a bit of saturation in the area. Just wondering if there are any nurses in the Denver area that can give any sort of input about the ins and outs of new grad hiring. I am especially interested in (eventually) becoming a flight nurse. Thank you in advance!

Let’s keep in touch, I too am thinking about moving to Denver this fall, my fiance is applying for a ECO-TECH school there. I’m going to try to take a travel position to get me there. I have worked as a travel nurse for three years, and looking for a job locally in order to prepare for the move… It’s to difficult to pack up a house and work out of town…

If you have experience, there should be a job for you. If not, you are out of luck, unless you do LTC or home care. I was a LPN for 8 years before getting my RN in October…..I can’t get a job in the hospital…..no “experience”. Hopefully in 2015 it will be better, but i am not counting on it. Heather, do you have a previous BS degree? Or are you doing a 4 year BSN program?

job market is extremely saturated. People with lots of experience have trouble finding work too, It is a tough job market out there. There are jobs, you might have to drive longer than you want or take something you don’t want.
    Good Luck.
