i just got terminated for “poor performance” which I think is not true because I never once gotten any feedback on what I need to work on. No verbal or written warning. Anyways, I’m bummed out, and need to start looking for a new job, but how do I overcome that question in applications and/or job interviews?

I just experienced the same thing, no warning. Said my orientation was not going good and they let me go. I’m bummed out as well and just started sending out more resumes to start the process all over again

I’m right there with ya. Been out of a job for over 2 months now and haven’t even been called in for an interview. Help!

This exact thing happened to me in October. I was never written up, nothing was said to me regarding anything lacking at my reviews. I was blindsided when they let me go. When I went to my next interview, I was honest about my perfect attendance, punctuality, and lack of disciplinary action. I stated that I believed if there were a problem with my performance that I assumed someone would discuss this with me. I also stated that I am sure I wasn’t the perfect nurse, but without these important communications, I wasn’t given the opportunity to learn from any mistakes I made and grow from them. I told my interviewers that I hoped this hospital was better about giving me feedback about my performance. I stated that I wanted to be the best nurse possible, and the only way I could do that is from support and guidance by my peers and managers. I was hired within the week at a better hospital with a higher rate of pay. Don’t worry that this is a career killer. It could be exactly what you needed to be on a better track for the rest of your life.
