Recently moved to Kansas, I was hired at a State Facility, I applied for my KS license, after being hired, I disclosed to the employer I was just applying for license in KS, they chose to keep me in training , in a non-patient environment, until I received license. I called the KS board of nursing the next week to check on status of my application. I was accused of false representation, and offering to practice without a license, and made to quit my job, also am now under investigation, this has never happened to me in over 20 years. I have had to hire an attorney, this license has cost me now over a 1000 dollars, Anyone know if I can expedite this, The employers have written letters on my behalf, What can I do to speed this up?
Your lawyer should be able to tell you what is going on better than I can (although, not knowing the facts of your case, I think you may have obtained a lawyer a bit soon.) Hopefully it all goes away once you get your license and your place of employment stays supportive and hires you back. I think the board is just being a pain in your butt. If they put an action on your license, then you will need the lawyer … hope it all works out well for you. Let us know how it goes and hopefully someone here can help you more with the KS board issues.
