    What are some of the mnemonics which helped you in school or at work?

    Oh Oh Oh, to touch and feel very good velvet, AH! was used for the cranial nerves. Anybody have any others?

    Carpal bones – Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can’t Handle

    Metabolic Acidosis – MUD PILES

    Metabolic Alkalosis – DVAGAL

    Parity Mnemonic – TPAL

    Interestingly, the APGAR is itself a mnemonic, but named for Virginia Apgar.


    NAVL- to locate anatomy in the Femoral groin area- Nerve, Artery, Vein, Ligament.


    Picmonics has a beta free version with some “picmonics” you might enjoy. It uses both mnemonics and a “story” and picture to help you remember different terms, nursing interventions, and values to remember. Worth trying to see if you are a spatial learner. Happy studying!
