My bf is an MMA fighter and he was training. While he was training he pulled his ankle. At first he was limping but was okay after he iced it. It’s still swollen a week after and hurts during training. What can he do?
Activity as tolerated … if it hurts when he trains, it is too early to be training on it, or adjust training so he doesn’t need to put so much pressure on his ankle. As an ER nurse, I know better than to give official medical advice in a forum. Without an examination, there is no way to know if it is sprained, strained, broken, etc … Rest, Ice, Elevation, compression, etc are some typical home treatments, but if he won’t go see an provider about it, he needs to stop making it worse until it is healed.
