I am about to graduate nursing school, YAY! What are some things you have learned to make becoming an awesome nurse easier, tips, tricks, secrets??

The most important thing to remember is that everybody has made a mistake and you will too. Organization is key when first starting to nurse. Never ever be afraid to ask for help!!!

Remember there are no stupid question even if there (hopefully just 1-2) ones who make u feel that way. It’s about you learning as much as you can while on orientation so volunteer 2 retake the hard assignment, the new or double admit then that way u won’t feel so out of sorts when it’s only u taking care of them. I am an ICU RN let me say welcome to the profession.

I guess you are in a diploma or associate degree program? Please please please, immediately go on to attain your BSN. Try to shadow a nurse anesthetist in an operating room and see if you like it. Consider ICU nursing if you can get a job anywhere. After one year of that, I believe you can then apply to anesthesia school. They want Master Degrees now though when its all said and done. Do not stop at nursing school! I am fricking warning you my dear!
If you do all I said, you will make at least $150K to start. And it is quite nice putting people to sleep and then you don’t have to hear them talking anymore. If you don’t do this, you will relate to this whole paragraph within months of your first nursing job. good luck!
