I’ve noticed recently that more and more tech schools are now offering a 2 year Associates RN program. I’ve talked to a few students that have enrolled in these programs and apparently they cost an arm and leg. To get accepted most of them are only requiring that you pass their “Entrance Exam” Does anybody have any insight on these programs? Has anybody completed this program?

I am currently set to start to ADN (2 year associates degree) program in January. My program is fully accredited and upon completion I will take tge sister nursing boards Nd be a licensed RN. In addition my program required Pre requisites, a min GPA and an entrance exam. I already have a BA is psych but after I finish my program I will continue and finish my BSN online. I think that these programs, like any school, need to be researched and make sure that it is an accredited program.

Jen S, why not do an accelerated 2nd degree BSN program instead of the ADN…you probably meet the requirements and most are 12-18 months long

The only entrance exam you should need to take is a test called TEAS or a nursing exam. Before applying to any college or Tech school, you should ALWAYS check their accreditation. I do not know of any TECH school that offers a 2 year RN degree. If it seems “fishy” it probably is!
