Has anyone felt any joy or pain over Obamacare yet? Plenty of pain where I work, but it is hard to tell how much pain is related to Obamacare vs how much pain is related to a new computer system and a larger, remodeled ER.

Overall I think most of the pain is caused by there just not being enough PCPs to handle the workload so people are coming into the ER with their new insurance. I thought Obamacare was supposed to direct people to the proper facility for their care?

He was supposed to direct patients to the appropriate facility. This is one of the many things promised and not carried out. Enough of that.

Jason, you are absolutely correct in that there are not enough PCP’s to handle the patient load.

Our or their hospital now bought many of the local and larger MD offices. In return one of the PCP’s has to be in the hospital most hours for a week stent and then three weeks in their office. Sometimes they get a day off and others they don’t. My PCP last worked 16 days straight because of the scheduling.

    It is sad, but true.
