I have been an Lpn for 22 years and have just recently taken some of the nursing challenge tests offered on this website…WTF…I’ve lost everything! What happened? I am confident in my nursing but for some reason I have forgotten all of the logistics. ..I am observent and know what I’m doing on the job..but cannot seem to answer most of the questions correctly. Feeling old and stupid. Any advise or insight on this??

The “art” of nursing cant be learned. You either have it or you don’t. You can learn all the facts and have all the knowledge but come face to face with a patient/resident and have no clue how to relate and empathize and interact with them. You dont have to pass anymore tests and the “textbook” answer isnt always what you use at the bedside. Move forward not backwards! Im sure you’re a great nurse!

You are a good nurse friend! What counts is that you respond to what’s in front if you! Practice the facts but this alone isn’t going to hone the craft you have crafted over these years!

As an Lpn with 17 years experience I do not feel dumb. I viewed every day as a learning experience and was always eager to learn or see something new. I be several years med surge experience so one of my favorite memories is the house RN at our long term facility come to me and say I have always done long term care and I’m no good with ivs. Can you come help me? As LPNs we are looked down on sometimes but you never know when your gonna need one of us. We are nurses too.
