I am taking leveling classes to start nursing school in 2016. I work full time now and am having a hard time finding evening sections of the basic Chemistry class + lab that I need for leveling. There are some community colleges that offer the class online…with a lab kit that I would buy.
Has anyone else done this? Is the quality of information sufficient for this foundation course? Taking the class online would be far easier for my current life, but I am worried about not being well prepared for future classes. (And, a bit worried about blowing up my kitchen…)
I enjoyed inorganic chemistry and lab … I thought they were fun. That said, I don’t think basic chemistry is going to make or break an RN. If taking it online is the way you need to do it … don’t worry too much that you aren’t getting the full experience of the chemistry class because other than some acid/base stuff, it is mostly just being able to measure medicines and do some basic math calculations. Good luck.
