Does anyone still get to do their charting on paper? I miss paper. Computers were supposed to streamline charting and speed up the patient flow, but I have found charting on the computer is slower than on paper, and the only thing it accomplishes is it allows admin to collect data …. and do they love to collect data.

We are switching from T-System to Cerner in the near future. While the rest of the hospital is happy about the change, since they are currently using a obsolete program, the ER folks are a bit sad because it looks like charting will now take even more time, especially since we have more “meaningful use” stuff to chart (more data for somebody to look at.)

What is your charting system, and how do you like it?
