Does your hospital use them to train ICU/ER nurses, or do you only higher people who are already trained? I went through a residency program as a new grad and found it very helpful. Does your hospital require students to sign a contract stating they will work there for two years or pay back cost of program? I’m trying to convince my admin to offer another program to turn a few of our medical nurses into ICU/ER nurses, but I haven’t convinced them it is worth the cost. I think the end product is much better than the on the job training we provide in our department orientation process, what do you all think?
