What in your life is preventing you from becoming a better nurse? Don’t like the people you work with or the facility so you don’t try? Addicted to FB so you spend all of your free time there instead of reading the occasional nursing article? Totally burned out and just doing your time until you can retire? What is holding you back and what can you do to overcome that?

It’s sad to say but after only a year and half as an LPN working at my job has started to burn me out. There is no help or appreciation from the higher ups, under staffed, lack of communication, lazy cna’s , back stabbing and people thrown under the bus. I love nursing and have decided to go back to school. I’m having trouble deciding between RN and business administration. With my feelings right now about nursing and my job I’m just afraid RN might be just as bad. I know I can change jobs but I make more and hour than the RN’s I know and I’m afraid no matter where I work it is going to be the same. So I guess I’d have to say that I’m holding me back.
