What is your favorite brand of stethoscope?

When I was an ICU nurse and actually cared about subtle lung sounds and heart tones, I used the Littmann Master Cardilogy stethoscope.

Now that I work in the ER and my stethoscope is mostly just a prop when I use to determine if someone is wet or wheezy to see if I can give a nebulizer and to test for tube placement, I have found that a longer tube is more important than sound quality so I don’t have to smell the body odor when listening to posterior lung sounds from the front. I now use the Littmann Veterinarian stethoscope. It has the Master Classic II head on it, but a longer tube than normal so I can listen at arm’s length.

I use to think it was just hype, but after using, then buying a Littman, I have to agree they are the best. Worth the $.
