    Smart definitely, but above all common sense with some humerus aspects. You must enjoy your job or you need to find another one!

    the best type of nurse is the one who doesn’t hide when there’s extra work to be done.. and doesn’t complain about the work load… nothing worse than a negative attitude.

    I don’t think there is any such thing as the perfect qualities for a nurse to have. I think everyone should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses and bring your strengths to the table and be yourself. As long as you genuinely care about your patients and are safe, an effective listener and work hard you will be a great nurse.
