On my phone, I have a folder in my iTunes called “Work.” It includes songs that relate to the many things I see in the ER, and I enjoy playing them at the nurses station, or even sometimes as I go into a patient room, if I think it will lighten the mood more than piss them off. Some of the songs include: Another one bites the dust by Queen, Bad Day by Daniel Powter, Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi, Can’t keep it in by Cat Stevens, Cat scratch fever by Ted Nugent, Everybody hurts by REM … and the list goes on, some more appropriate than others for the work place.

Does anyone have any good theme songs I should include in my work folder? Thanks for the help.

Personally, I like the Mission Impossible theme song and have been known to hum it during stressful times in the ICU. lol!!

Genabenna: a year ago I would have LOVED that idea, the bad news is, that is the time they changed the ambulance line from playing the theme song to M*A*S*H to playing Mission Impossible, and they haven’t changed it again since. It was a great song for a while, but now every time I hear it, I know there is another ambulance on the way in, and it is starting to kill me inside, one tone at a time.

That would definitely be frustrating!!! I would hate to hear the same song over and over! Especially one I like and end up hating!!!
Here we try to avoid another one bites the dust. We’re afraid our crumping patients will over hear it and take it to heart. Kinda defeats the goal of keeping them alive til 735. Lol!!!
