I am so confused! I have looked on both state sites and cannot understand exactly what to do. Maybe it’s that I am so tired by the time I can sit and look…who knows. If anyone can offer any advice/input…I would be ever so greatful!!

I currently have my LPN in NYS. I am looking for jobs across the state line in PA. Would love a simple break down on how to go about it.

    Thank you!

    Is your license compact?

I switched from OH to PA and it was kind of an ordeal. Go to the PA State Board of Nursing website ( I just Googled it) and then you have to go to the Licensure Information tab. If you scroll down a little bit you’ll see an section that says endorsement (under Board Forms/Applications). I downloaded the Licensure by endorsement with temporary practice permit and mailed it in with the fee. The problem I had was that the school I went to required fewer clinical hours than the state of PA so I had to mail in verification from my employer. I don’t know if it’s usually a long process, but it took forever for my PA license to become active.
I hope this helps you some!

No, it’s not compact. And I believe nys requires the most hours to complete the program. So I don’t think more will be required in that way. Thank you both for your responses. I think I now have it figured out! Thanks again!
