Had an OD come in, poked a couple times and no IV, so I started a little 22g in her upper arm to give her some narcan and get some fluids going. She wasn’t doing well, so I used the ultrasound to start a bigger IV on the other side and draw some labs. I was feeling pretty proud of myself until after wiping the ultrasound gel off and flushing the line with some saline, I accidently pulled the line out 🙁 Patient ended up getting a central line as there were no more veins to be found.

What oopses have you had recently that made you feel like an idiot?
