Most nursing unions I have been involved with have been for RNs only, and the LPNs have belonged to the union which represented the CNAs or even the kitchen staff. Would you LPNs want to be represented along with the RNs? I can understand some pay difference between the two, but realistically speaking, I would rather have an LPN with 10 years of experience taking care of my family than a newbie RN, but in many places the pay scale difference between the two is so dramatic that no LPN is ever going to make as much as any RN.
