I am looking for anecdotes/experiences for a paper I plan on publishing tentatively titled “What Do You Do with a Student Nurse.” In my experience, there are great clinical experiences, bad clinical experiences and mediocre clinical experiences. It is not the clinical setting that makes the experience, but the instructors, the students and the administrators coming together with expectations, advocacy and knowledge.

Some of you are RNs, LPNs, CNAs, CMAs and you have clinical experience where you were a student in a clinical setting. Some of you have been clinical instructors in hospitals, long-term care and some unusual settings. Some of you are still students and I want to hear from you too.

What did you expect going into your experience? What was good about your experience, what didn’t work, what could have been better and what could you have done to improve the experience as a teacher or a student? Let me know your clinical setting and what your role was.

For those of you who have worked or currently work in healthcare, I would love to hear from you. If you know of someone who may be able to contribute, please pass this on.

I have a special email that you can reply to: nursewriteratheart@gmail.com

I will be gathering this information over the next 3-4 weeks. Thank you for participating.
