I work nights ,12 hour nights, and sometimes we have peaceful nights. On those nights,I will generally bring out my kindle e reader, and read a book. I work with a float CNA who gets upset when he sees me reading, in spite of the fact that I help him as much if not more than others. He spoke to my supervisor, and I was told no more iPad.( kindle app),and an email went out to everyone about phones and devices.but over the last month, the devices and phones have been out all ver the place.i brought out my iPad and was reading, but it was a peri operative nursing book.
MR snitch went running right to my supervisor again, and I got in a lot of trouble. I wasn’t allowed to explain that the book I was reading was surgical n nature. So now HR is involved, and I’m going to ave to get a union rep to help me out. My question is.. What are YOUR HOSPITAL POLICIES ABOUT PHONES AND ELECTRONICSat work?

I might add that my nursing skills and work ethic have never been questioned

Your biggest problem is that you work with a serious eff-wit of a care tech. That sucks.

O would agree with that but in the meantime, I need some advice on how to deal with this and what other policies in other hospitals are..I find this to be a petty waste of time in the bigger picture
