What is the worst part about being a nurse? Is it the crazy hours? The crazy patients you sometimes have to deal with? Not getting bathroom breaks?

Losing a PT, especially a neo or ped.

In nursing school, very first day of clinical, at the nursing home, I lost my very first patient. He didn’t die, I just couldn’t find him anywhere. Finally asked the staff, and they couldn’t find him either. Instructor gave me a new patient for the day. A few hours later the police found him walking around the lake, a few miles away. They brought him back, but I had already changed my assignment, so I never did do anything with him, but I will always remember the one that got away.
